I am an NSF Predoctoral Fellow and a PhD Candidate in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Washington, advised by Wenying Shou at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. Using the classical Saccharomyces cerevisiae system, I combine both experimental and computational approaches to study adaptive radiation in evolving clonal populations.
Before entering graduate school, I worked as an undergraduate researcher in the lab of Eric Hegg at Michigan State University studying hydrogenase activity in the green alga Volvox carteri. I have also worked in the private sector as a molecular biology intern for Merck Sharp & Dohme in the Vaccines Basic Research Division.
